What was new in 2001 in the Revelation Pages?
17th November 2001
- Good news! God loves you!
- Nearly as good news! BQ2 ("Burning Question",
version 2) seems to be going down very well indeed. We have have had
some very enouraging and positive feedback from the two presentations so
far.
- Good news! Members of Revelation have themselves commented how much
more they now appreciate about the act of worship.
- Please pray with us for more good news - that it will be equally
well received at St Paul's, Slough on November
25th, and that more people will come to understand that worship
means coming in to God's presence through Jesus.
- More Good news! Three more new jokes.
And, from now on, we'll be acknowledging the sources ... where we know
them.
18th October 2001
Latest news: We presented Burning Questions 2 to Christchurch, Virginia
Water, on Sunday. Initial feedback from the congregation seemed very
positive. Everyone I spoke to during fellowship afterwards all said how
much they had enjoyed it, and had been challenged by it.
Revelation is giving away a free script: "The Carpenter Saga".
There is no charge; all we ask for your using it is an acknowledgement.
13th October 2001
- We have a new page: "Download our Documents"
on which we'll be providing documents for you to keep and print.
To start the collection we are providing a publicity leaflet.
As for what comes next ... watch this space.
- The Music Group page has at last been
published. It only took me three years to get around to it ...
11th October 2001
So much time has passed; so much has happened; where does one start?
This year is proving a challenge. Revelation has been trying to
divide its demands on members' time between rehearsing shows, and
creating new material (see below). Getting the balance right is difficult. As ever,
we depend on the support of your prayers as much as on member's time.
Grateful thanks to all who support us in this way.
- Revelation is taking a new version of
"Burning Questions" on tour this autumn. We hope and pray that
congregations will find this to be a stimulating and challenging experience.
- We have started on some exciting new projects to create our own
material. For details on "Names of God" and other projects, visit our
"What's next?" page for an overview, or go
straight to our "All our own work" page for the
details.
- This web site has a new mailing list, hosted by Smartgroups. Want
to join? Then look for the yellow Revelation-news sign-up box in the
navigation bar (on the left of any page). Or ... while you're thinking
about it, here's a direct link to the Smartgroups registration page.
- Our hit
counter reached 5,000 hits this week. A major milestone.
OK, an average of 143 per month is small beer compared to (say) MSN. But
this web site was originally intended for member's information, and as
a source of information to local church fellowships who might be thinking of booking
us. We originally estimated we'd get only a few hundred hits per year.
Praise God! that even small specialist web sites like this can reach
thousands to proclaim and spread the Good News of Jesus.
- Finally, no "What's new" entry would be complete without news of more
humour in our Christian Jokes page. Enjoy!
16th May 2001
The tour of "Torn Curtain" is over. Now for the farewell tour!
Yes, the show has proved wildly popular. We have another booking.
- See Diary of events for details on the
booking of Torn Curtain on 1st July. A street map is available to help
you get there.
- The Revelation Committee has a new set of email addresses on our Contacts page. Hopefully, these should be more
memorable.
- Revelation's project to create our own own musical meets a
milestone this week. At a workshop on Saturday 19th May, a draft play
(written by Douglas) will be presented to the musicians. The next phase
should hopefully result in some songs to add to the drama.
Currently the play covers the Easter story from Palm Sunday to Pentecost
(with a provisional title of "A Death in Time").
- As ever, your prayers for our work are greatly appreciated.
- No new jokes this time - sorry.
9th March 2001
At this point, Revelation are about to end their tour of "Torn Curtain"
at Cove Methodist church, on 11th March. Here's what else is new.
- The Jokes page has regained the "Current Christian Chuckle",
- and now clearly indicates the ten most recent jokes.
- And we have been steadily adding new jokes. Enjoy!
- The "What have we done" page has been brought right up-to-date.
- Our plans for 2001 have been updated. We intend to spend some time writing the music & drama for our own show.
- What else? Oh yes, the inevitable "miscellaneous changes".
