How did we begin?

Trinity Church, a small URC/Methodist church in Yateley, Hampshire, had its 10th birthday in the spring of 1997. It was decided to mark the event by performing the Roger Jones musical "Saints Alive". This was a large undertaking for a small church (of only 35 members), involving a choir, musicians, drama group, and a group of young dancers.

An invitation was received for a second presentation at High Cross, Camberley, Surrey. This is a large URC/Methodist church of about 500 members, so a larger choir and more musicians were sought. Among those invited to take part in this second performance were a group of experienced Christian singers from around Ascot, Berkshire, who had been praying about forming a permanent ecumenical performance group for some time.

The performance at High Cross was so successful that there were further invitations for the presentation coming in from yet more churches. The demand was there. Revelation was formed out of this expanded cast of "Saints Alive" in October 1997 to meet that need.

Addendum

With great sadness we have to add that Trinity URC + Methodist Church (Yateley) closed in June 2001. We wish the members well, and pray that other churches can take advantage of the many talents that have now been dispersed.
