Welcome to the Revelation Music Group's Page.In many important respects the music group is the core of Revelation. It is both the largest group, and the oldest, as it pre-dates the formation of Revelation. Most of the group's members come from an earlier inter-denominational choir which took part in two large scale musicals by Roger Jones - "Pharisee" and "Angel Voices" - in Bracknell and Reading in 1995 and 1997. Each musical was a joyous affair, involving amalgamated choirs of over 200 singers, and more than a thousand people attended each of the presentations. The choir had been praying about forming a permanent ecumenical performance group for some time. One day, they were invited to help Trinity Church, Yateley, to present "Saints Alive" ... which ultimately led to the formation of Revelation from these two groups. Led by Jacki Thomas (Music Director), and ably assisted by Paula Darrall (Worship Leader), this group has always seen itself as a ministry group. When they sing and play, it is from the heart. Each member is reaching out to the listeners from their own Christian experience, to help them understand the Gospel. In fact, it is from this group that Revelation understands that we are not a "performance" organisation; rather we present and demonstrate the Gospel; we are only a channel for God's Word and redeeming love. The music group has had strong links to Christian Music Ministries (Roger Jones' organisation) for several years. Many members have toured with Roger to the Holy Land, and supported many of his national tours when they visited this area. The Revelation choir has 50 members, on average. This means we can usually field 20-30 singers for each presentation and workshop. We are also fortunate to have a few excellent instrumentalists. However, people move on, and so we are always seeking new members. If you love Jesus, can sing well, perhaps even read music a little, then there's a warm welcome waiting for you in our choir. Instrumentalists are welcome on the same basis, although they do need to have much better sight-reading skills. Come join us, and sing/play your love for our Lord.
