A message from the Chairman of Revelation.

Dear Virtual Visitor,

Welcome to the Revelation Website. We're a group of Christians whose aim is to present Jesus and His Gospel through music, song, dance, and drama. We're based vaguely around the Ascot area of the U.K. ( That's about 40 km west of London, for those who are unfamiliar with the geography of Britain.) When the group was formed I was asked to take the post of Chairman, and as such Douglas ( who has set up the website and maintains it ) suggested that I extend a formal "welcome" to our visitors, and show a human rather than factual face for the site.

Since Douglas has already mentioned his greying hair, I'll not be ashamed to mention my sparcity of it - hair, that is, not greying. I'm in my forties, married with one daughter, and growing outward rather than upward. In the dim and distant past I trained as a chorister in the Leeds Parish Church Choir. This created in me a love of 4-part choral singing, which has stayed with me. In my late teens I became a Christian.

A couple of years ago an opportunity arose to join the choir providing backing for the local presentation of the Roger Jones musical "Pharisee". I responded with some alacrity, and hence came to know the core group who were later to form the basis of Revelation.

We have Jacki and Mike Thomas. Jacki is the conductor of Revelation, and co-musical director, and a musician skilled in playing violin and viola. Mike is a dynamic administrator and organiser, singer and amateur playwright. Both are lay preachers in the local area, who provide some spiritual leadership to our work.

Paula Darrall is a musician who specialises in worship. Her contribution is very great, working on co-directing music with Jacki, providing keyboard backing to our performances, and often leading and inspiring our worship.

Douglas Brown, our Drama co-ordinator, is also a singer. Steve Hunt is our drama specialist - a teacher of the subject, who makes time to encourage, inspire, and direct the actors. Steve and Douglas also have been involved in co-writing some material.

A few months ago we presented the musical "Jairus' daughter" at a church in Yateley, a nearby town. At the end of the service I was told that, as a result of the musical, one youngster had decided to become a Christian.

We're told that angels rejoice over such news: For my part, I was overjoyed. After all, we're a group of Christians whose aim is to present Jesus and His Gospel through music, song, dance, and drama !

Enjoy the website, and its jokes page especially.
